Beautiful Bugs with CodeJoy and Adam Lazarus!

Learn about + make beautiful bugs!  Join PBS host and bug enthusiast Adam Lazarus and CodeJoy’s Kelsey Derringer for two classes that explore the magical insects around you, teach you how they do what they do through hands-on making, and then let you program and control a robotic insect game in the CodeJoy studio from your own home! Each class is 1.5 hours and cost for both sessions is $50 (per seat, more than one camper can participate). Part make-and-take webinar, part crafting + coding class, part interview, part adventure this class is a blast for anyone! #maketogether as a family or meet up online with far away friends! Register to participate in the classes on Eventbrite (space is limited).    Details: On Tuesday (5/12) you’ll learn about Elegant Spiders and their Webs: How does a spider spend her day? How does she build her web? We will visit some spiders with scientist, teacher, and bug enthusiast Adam Lazarus and learn about their webs. Then we’ll make our OWN mechanical spider webs from craft supplies! Materials

On Friday (5/15) you’ll learn about Stylish Scorpion Stingers: Have you ever met a scorpion? How do they live, eat, and move? We will visit some scorpions with scientist, teacher, and bug enthusiasts Adam Lazarus and learn all about them. Then we’ll make our OWN mechanical scorpion from craft supplies! Finally, participants will program and control a robotic scorpion game in the CodeJoy Studio from their own homes! Materials
